Terms and Conditions

Read Spic N Span's terms and conditions to understand the rules and guidelines for using our services.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Spic N' Span ("we", "us", "our"). By booking cleaning services or making a payment with us, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

We provide house and commercial cleaning services as described on our website. The scope, pricing, and availability of services may vary and are subject to confirmation when you book.

2. Billing, Payments & Price Changes

  • Recurring customers can choose weekly, fortnightly, or monthly billing.
  • Invoices are issued through our payment processor, Stripe, and are due within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
  • Late payment may result in a suspension of future bookings until outstanding invoices are settled.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings where reasonably necessary, including where we are unable to provide the requested service or where there are reasonable concerns regarding safety, access, payment, or other circumstances affecting the service.
  • We may update our prices from time to time. For recurring customers, we will give you at least one month's notice of any price change by email before it takes effect.

3. Cancellations & Cooling-Off Period

  • Individual cleans should be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours before the scheduled visit. Where less notice is given, the full cost of the clean may be charged where permitted by law.
  • To cancel an ongoing weekly, fortnightly, or monthly arrangement, we require at least one month's written notice, subject to your statutory rights.
  • If you are a consumer and booked our services online or by phone, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
  • If you ask us to begin providing services during the 14-day cancellation period, you may be required to pay for services provided up to the point you cancel. Where the service has been fully performed with your express request and acknowledgement of the consequences, your statutory right to cancel may no longer apply.

4. Property Access & Customer Responsibilities

  • Where you provide us with keys, alarm codes, or other means of access, we will take reasonable steps to keep them secure and use them only as necessary to provide your booked services. We will return or securely dispose of access information when it is no longer required, subject to any legal or legitimate business requirement to retain relevant records.
  • Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the premises where services will be performed.
  • Customers must notify us of any health, safety, security, access, or other relevant concerns prior to service.
  • We are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, faulty equipment, or unsafe environments where we have acted with reasonable care and skill.

5. Our Cleaners

If your regular cleaner is unavailable, we will try to arrange a suitable substitute so your scheduled clean can still go ahead. Where this isn't possible, we will contact you to reschedule.

Our cleaning services may be provided by self-employed cleaners and partners who provide services through Spic N' Span. We introduce and coordinate cleaners with our clients and invest time and resources in recruiting, onboarding, and managing our service relationships.

Customers agree not to directly hire, engage, or otherwise solicit any cleaner or partner introduced to them through Spic N' Span outside of our services while receiving services from us and for 12 months afterwards. If a customer breaches this clause, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable introduction or replacement fee to cover costs reasonably incurred as a result of the breach.

6. Our Responsibilities & Damages

  • We will perform services with reasonable care and skill.
  • If you are dissatisfied with a service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can attempt to investigate and resolve the issue.
  • If you believe something has been damaged or broken during a clean, please report it to us as soon as reasonably possible, ideally within 48 hours of the service, so we can investigate and, where appropriate, arrange a repair, replacement, or other resolution.

7. Liability & Force Majeure

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses or damages.
  • Subject to your statutory rights and to liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited, our total liability for any claim arising from a particular cleaning service will be limited to the amount paid or payable for that service.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
  • We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, illness, utility failures, or other circumstances outside of our reasonable control.

8. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Unless otherwise required or permitted by law, changes will apply to future bookings and services rather than bookings that have already been confirmed.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights regarding where proceedings may be brought.

11. General

  • Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
  • These Terms, together with your booking confirmation and any specific terms agreed with you, form the agreement between you and us in relation to the relevant services.
  • Any notices between us should be sent by email or post using the contact details below.
